University Dementia Studies


Many excellent universities offer postgraduate courses in dementia studies. 

Bradford University provides part-time, distance learning courses specialising in arts and activities.

Canterbury Christ Church University provides focus on arts and health: 

Sydney de Haan Research Centre for Arts and Health at Canterbury Christ Church University,http://www.canterbury.ac.uk/Research/Centres/HSCR/Home.aspx, incorporating the Dementia Services Development Centre South East, offers a BSc in Dementia and researches the value of music and other participatory arts activities


Training for people with dementia and their carers:


Alzheimer’s Society
(http://alzheimers.org.uk/site/scripts/documents_info.php?documentID=1007) offers training for organisations and carers, and information sheets for individuals.

Dementia UK (www.dementiauk.org/what-we-do/learning-partnerships-and-training) holds training events that include artistic stimulation, for carers of people with dementia.
