Part-time Arts Administrator

New opportunity - July-September 2017

An exciting new opportunity is available at Arts 4 Dementia, an extension of our London work, delivering training and helping arts organisations to develop weekly arts workshops to re-energise and inspire people affected by early stage dementia and their carers (family, friend or professional).  Our website signposts arts opportunities for dementia in the community nationwide.

We are looking for an individual with excellent administrative skills, who working with our president, Veronica Franklin Gould, will provide research and administrative support for the launch of our regional arts model for dementia. Following our Reawakening festival, 15 May - 3 June 2017REAWAKENING INTEGRATED: Arts and Heritage Programmes for People Affected by Dementia: An Integration Model Feasibility Study in Dorset, will map and report on wide-ranging arts opportunities around the county to protect against onset and of symptoms of dementia. This is a partnership project with Canterbury Christ Church University, the Ageing and Dementia Research Centre at Bournemouth University and Arts University Bournemouth. The report will be launched on World Alzheimer's Day 21 September. 

You will be based in Putney


  • Assisting the director in the day-to-day preparation of the report, trustee report and launch symposium.
  • Contacting arts organisations to research/confirm text for their events in the REAWAKENING report and for new A4D website.
  • Liaising with Director and CEO to populating the new website with REAWAKENING events
  • Maintaining and filing REAWAKENING research records.
  • Raising public awareness through social media, arts and health networks, public noticeboards


  • Well organised and highly motivated.
  • Experience as a proactive hands on administrator, able to deal with all demands calmly, with a flexible and adaptable attitude
  • Ability to build excellent relationships with a variety of people and organisations
  • Adept at Word, email, Excel, PowerPoint, social media platforms, web literacy including website updating.
  • Good, clear communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Eventbrite, MailChimp, CRMs 


  • Familiarity with the arts world
  • Relevant experience such as a charity or organisation in the arts and health sectors
  • Marketing

Hours and location: 20 hours, ideally each weekday morning, or one full day and three morning at the Director's home, six minutes' walk from Putney station and buses that run along Putney High Street and along Upper Richmond Road.

Salary: £24,000 pa (pro rata).
