Becca worked as a volunteer at our bbodance workshop in September 2016. After completing a BA in Theatre, as well as extensive training in dance and movement, Becca works as an Open Floor movement teacher, running an expressive dance class combing movement and art. She is a qualified Primary School teacher and has worked as an educator for 6 years, specialising in play-based and creative learning. She came to Arts 4 Dementia after a year working as a volunteer to support people living with dementia.

Of her experience with Arts 4 Dementia, Becca said:

"It was a great experience to volunteer for Arts for Dementia - what a brilliant and essential organisation for making a difference to people with Dementia and their families! I'm studying to be Dance Movement Psychotherapist so it was a great support for my studies to witness the profound effects that dance can have in supporting self expression, enjoyment and relationships with people living with dementia. It was great to see how people's confidence in the dance grew over the weeks; I was particularly inspired by how it also gave carers time for fun and enjoyment and a way to connect and be with their loved one through dance".

To apply to be a volunteer at one of our arts workshops for individuals living with early stage dementia as well as their carers, please complete the following form.
