Launch of London Arts Challenge in 2012 at The Wallace Collection

08 February 2012
Anne Fay, head of learning, launched the London Arts Challenged in 2012's first projects in the magnificent setting of The Wallace Collection on Tuesday 7 February. Arts educators, Anja Hartman of Kenwood House, Gillian Christie of The Tricycle Theatre and Catherine Chastney of The Wallace Collection and Jane Hackett of Sadler's Wells each gave the flavour of their innovative courses for people in the early stages of dementia. A4D chief executive Veronica Franklin Gould talked on behalf of comedian Joe Bor who is running interactive stand-up sessions at The Pineapple pub in Kentish Town.
As a result of this event, which introduced mental health teams and participants to arts educators, Jane has invited all participants to discuss the impact of these first courses, at Sadler's Wells. Both the inspiration of a major dance venue, and evidence arising from each course, will augment the launch of the next projects.
