Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) held a training day to launch Arts 4 Dementia A4D's new weekly drama, dance and music projects and to inspire new events for Reawakening arts and heritage festival for dementia.
Nicky Taylor of West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds presented dementia friendly performance guidance to support the AUB drama project. Starting on Tuesday 21 March, this will be led by Jon Nicholas for people experiencing early symptoms of dementia and their companions working with AUB BA acting students. Pavilion Dance South West's creative dance sessions for dementia start on Friday 24 March, and St Peter's Church Bournemouth are now offering the opportunity to sing and explore the organ on Tuesday mornings - all provided free.
